While rides are not recommended for children under 12, it's not
cheap, and it involves a drive of nearly an hour, this is one of
the most exciting ways to explore Virginia's largest river: the
James. This raft company is a full-service outfitter and offers
trips March through November. The experience is billed as the only
URBAN white water run in the country as the James River runs
through the center of the city of Richmond.
The short trip is 3 hours and tours
the lower section of the river. The full trip is about 6 hours,
covers the upper (above the Falls) and lower parts of the river,
